Welcome, friends! Since I retired from #MemoryMatters, I have returned to my roots as a writer. I've been doing a lot of freelance writing and editing for fine local publications. However, my big news is that during the Covid 19 pandemic I wrote a novel -- and I admit it has been a challenge. It's called #Damselflies and it was inspired by my grandmother's life. She was only 16 when her mother put her on a ship to America from Lithuania. She must have been frightened but excited, desperate yet filled with hope, longing for her family in Lithuania, yet anxious to rejoin her brother in America. She experienced so much trauma in her life: the death of four children during the #SpanishFlu epidemic in 1916, and then her husband was later killed by a hit and run driver. Damselflies is historical fiction loosely based on her life.
I invite you to join me on my journey through the process of getting a literary agent and publisher. The manuscript still has a final edit to complete, and then it will be ready to go!
I believe in this book and feel that it has great potential. I'll keep you posted!
Exciting news!!!!
I can’t wait to read it. I think if you often my friend
